Runway Bride

Oscar09.jpg

This was my view from the 2nd row at Oscar's Spring'09 Bridal Show. I fell head over heels for every dress! How do you pick just one?

Looking for some wedding inspiration, I met up with my girls last night at the "Best in Bridal: Beauty & Style" reception, hosted by BFF Bridal. Showcasing the latest and greatest in bridal fashion and beauty, it was a decadent mix of shopping, pampering, drinks and delish hors d'oeuvres, all in a chic and elegant setting. We previewed a collection of gowns by Lela Rose, Junko Yoshioko, Angel Sanchez, Oscar de la Renta, Elizabeth Filmore & Anne Barge, and played with some diamonds from Nina Nikita. After sampling Laura Mercier's eyelash bar and chatting with Mr. Mark Ingram himself, we left with amazing swag bags filled with tons of beauty goodies. More on those soon! :)

Apple of My Eye

Appleofmyeye.jpgSo, I am (newly!) engaged to a truly wonderful guy. His name is Chris, and he is the love of my life. I'm still getting used to calling him my fiancé, but it feels nice.

We took a dinner cruise around Manhattan tonight. The city looks extra romantic from the water, through a foggy mist. Champagne, salmon steak, & live entertainment... not too shabby for a Monday night :)

Chris and I are flying out to the Virgin Islands this Saturday for an entire week to scope out venues & meet with several wedding planners. I can't wait to start planning our wedding, and some sunshine is just what I need!

YSL Touche Eclat

 ToucheEclat1.jpg

I received YSL's Touche Eclat ["toosh-eh-clah"] as a gift this past week. Thanks, Lorelei!! :)  It's so fun to try a "cult favorite" - People must swear by certain products for good reasons.

I don't use concealer, but this pen is also known to work famously well as a highlighter. I tried Touche Eclat under my eyebrows and just above my cheekbones. It was such a treat! The formula glides on lightly and blends evenly with fingertips; a little goes a long way. I sleep about 4 hours a night, and this pen really freshened up my look, just in time for Girls' Night Out later that evening.

Perfect for a midday pick-me-up, Touche Eclat works under or over foundation, and does not cake up AT ALL. Great packaging- the golden chrome finish will stay pretty and survive makeup bag rummaging. But you might be unpleasantly surprised when this pen runs out!

TIP - Touche Eclat comes in 4 shades (I have #2) and can also be used as a reverse lip liner, to contour your pretty lips.

Make it yours.

Welcome to Apple a Day.

rotten.jpg

Fashion and beauty trends are fun and exciting, but they are also fleeting. None of it matters if you don't invest in the person wearing them.

Beauty is balance.

Do something for yourself daily, something good that makes you grow and makes you happy. Explore. Try. Learn. Indulge. Laugh. Forgive. Love yourself. Everlasting beauty will radiate from the inside out. Then, we can talk about fave beauty products & tricks. :)

As I share about my life and my journey through the fashion industry, I hope to discover perspective, inspiration, and connection with some truly beautiful people.

Enjoy!

-Jennifer
