Poppies

This month, Benefit launches Posietint, posieblob.jpga poppy-colored lip and cheek stain.

Instead of giving a reddish wash like its sister, Benetint, Posietint delivers a natural pink color to your cheeks and lips. The liquid formula blends into cheeks as a pretty petal-pink flush that is just right for summer.

posie.jpgThe great thing about stains is the fact that they do not melt off in the summer heat. More on melt-proof summer makeup coming soon!

In Your Face

clarisonicwhite.jpgAfter spending a week under the Caribbean sun, I was in desperate need of a facial. I'd been hearing so many great things about the Clarisonic face brush and finally decided it was time to get my hands on one. Of course, I had to have the pink limited edition.

Powered by sonic technology, the Clarisonic deep cleans six times more effectively than hand washing. It gently polishes off dead skin at 300 oscillations per second, unveiling a clear, rosy complexion. Dirt, oil, makeup, and environmental pollutants are wiggled out of your skin, making pores appear smaller. This is a gotta-have for city dwellers and for those looking for an easy way to keep their skin in tip-top condition.

I simply cannot go back to washing my face without this amazing little magic brush. It's so fun and innovative, and it really works. I use the Clarisonic with my favorite cleanser, and my skin is glowing. I'm so excited to use it every day, because the brush feels so good on my skin. My face is so soft!

clarisonicpink.jpgTreat yourself! For the cost of two facials or one microdermabrasion session, you can pamper your face with the benefits of both spa experiences, DAILY. Moisturizers and serums will soak right up and work much more effectively, so you will actually save on skin care products in the long run. Clarisonic offers a risk-free 30-day trial. Give it a try, I promise you will love it.

PS - Clarisonic is not just for girls! Chris and I got our brushes together and he loves it just as much as I do.

PPS - Win a ticket and a date with yours truly to the screening of Sex and the City: The Movie, before it hits theaters! Stay tuned for details.

Another reason why I'm glowing :)

Lip Gloss Rehab

Gloss.jpgI am the poster child of lip gloss junkies.  True story- On my way back from Houston last month, I was held by airport security due to the massive amount of lip glosses I had in my bag. After placing them one by one in a tray, we proceeded to count in unison. The grand total: 22 tubes. "A new record...", sighed Mr. TSA.

Lip glosses are a girly girl staple, you can never have too many. But according to this article from msnbc.com, certain glosses could increase your risk for skin cancer. High-shine glosses may act as magnifying glasses, intensifying the sun's rays on your pucker.

Let's prevent raisin lips! If you're going to be outside , it's important to have some SPF to protect your bocca against the elements. And save the extra-shiny stuff for the PM. Keep those pouts plump and pretty!

PS - In my defense, 2 of those tubes were actually lip balms.

Best of  Both Worlds - Top Glosses with SPF:

byterryspf.jpgSPF 15 - By Terry Laque de Rose Tinted Lip Care - Smells like a bouquet of roses right under your nose! :) These sheer colors are gorgeous alone or layered over your fave lip colors.
SPF 15 - Murad Energizing Pomegranate Lip Protector - I like everything that has anything to do with pomegranates. Pumped full of antioxidants and anti-cancer/healing elements, it also exfoliates and hydrates, leaving lips smooth and juicy. Also works great as an overnight treatment!
SPF 17 - theBalm BalmShelter Tinted Gloss -
Super-hydrating and strawberry-banana scented, these glosses glide on with subtle but shiny color and have adorable names - I heart "Daddy's Girl" & "Girl Next Door".
SPF 20 - Neutrogena MoistureShine Lip Soother - This is a seriously yummy glossy gloss. It's a little sticky, so if you're going to be outside, save this one for a non-windy/ponytail day.
SPF 25 - Fiji Blend Loss Gloss - Claims to promote weight loss by curbing your appetite. Honestly, no gloss could ever do that for me, but I do appreciate the SPF 25.
