Damsel in this Dress
Last month, I found my dream wedding gown at the Vera Wang bridal sale. Hooray!! Finally! It's the most spectacular blush pink silk taffeta confection ev-ar! I can't post pictures because Chris might spy it. Shhh! :)
The gown is a tiny sample size and surprisingly, a near perfect fit. However, I do wish that I had more womanly curves to fill out the hip area. I've started looking online for some padded undergarments to give me an extra voluptuous boost on the sides. Ironic how so many brides sweat and starve to fit into their dresses, and here I am, trying to buy some lovely lady humps online. Looking stunning is not about being the mini-est you can be. It's about being fat in all the right places.
A quote from Kate Hudson in Bride Wars: "You don't alter a Vera to fit you, you alter yourself to fit the Vera."
Amen, sister.
Change of Scenery
Chris and I will be jetting off to Taiwan tomorrow to spend the holidays with family! Traveling is one of my
favorite pastimes and I am more than thrilled to be escaping from chilly New York for a week and a half.
Since I will be out of the country for New Year's, here are some (not all) of my resolutions:
1) Get in hot shape. Must have that beach bod in time for our wedding in April - 4 months to go!!
2) Learn how to cook. Hopefully, my sister-in-law can enlighten me. She's amazing!
3) Take and share more photos.
4) Blog more! 2009 is going to be amazing, and I can't wait to share it with you.
Any resoultions you care to share? I'll try to hold you to them! :) Have a wonderful Christmas, and I will see you next year.
PS - I only packed 12 lip glosses for this trip.
Ready-to- Where!?
Custo Barcelona was one of the more “amusing” shows I attended this season, although I’m left pondering where exactly one would wear his ready-to-wear collection. (Say that three times!) Nevertheless, it was a treat to view his Skittles-colored creations from the first row. Thankfully, F-Week is officially over in New York. Next up, Milan & Paris!

And... We're Back!
Fall has arrived! As Fashion Week kicks off in New York, we are all about looking forward. While many of us relish the thrill of changing trends in fashion, I am personally celebrating significant life changes happening before my eyes.
I have been hustling overtime at my (amazing!) new job while juggling wedding planning, marriage planning, and homemaking projects. Though these are all intense transition processes, they carry an abundance of excitement and assurance in steadfast commitments to come.
True personal style lays in key investment pieces that will last long after fleeting trends fly on and off the runway. They grow in value as you cherish them, and live to tell stories of your adventures. The same logic applies to all other commitments made in life. So, know yourself. Plan carefully, choose wisely. Invest in the quality, structure, and authenticity that will withstand the tests of changing times.
Break out the bubbly - Here’s to embracing a wonderful season of changes!
